Hundreds of people are assisting in the search for a Sidney High School teacher who did not return home after going for a jog.

43-year-old Sherry Arnold was last seen at 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

More than 200 people participated in the initial search Saturday, finding a shoe believed to belong to Arnold near one of her regular jogging routes.

Sidney Assistant Police Chief Bob Burnison says Arnold was classified Sunday as missing.

He says nearly 1,000 people turned out Sunday morning to search for the math teacher but authorities limited the number to a more manageable 300.

Burnison says a helicopter crew from Great Falls and several airplanes are participating in the search.

Three K-9 teams and National Guard troops also were assisting.
