Hoops Players From Northern, Westminster Honored

Athletes from Montana State-Northern and Westminster College are the Frontier Conference basketball players of the week.

Northern senior guard Laramie Schwenke of Malta won the women's award. She averaged 21 points, seven rebounds and five assists per game as the Skylights won at Dickinson State and split two games at the Westminster Tournament.

Westminster junior forward Jake Orchard from Salt Lake City won the men's award. He had 28 points, three assists, two steals and a rebound as the Griffins downed NCAA Division I Northern Colorado 73-60.

Orchard made all six of his 3-point attempts and went 9-of-10 from the field while making 7-of-8 free throws.

UNC is the defending Big Sky Conference champions.
