The Montana Red Cross has deployed 5 volunteers to aid Southern storm victims. More volunteers are slated to be sent this week  in response to the deadly storms that have displaced thousands in the Southern and Midwestern states. 5 volunteers left Montana on Sunday morning and will be stationed in Jackson Mississippi for a period of 14 to 21  days. Public Affairs Coordinator for the Montana Red Cross, Lori Grannis, says the volunteers will be aiding storm victims in the areas of client casework, and providing a  needs assessment.

Grannis says in the days ahead the Red Cross will continue to focus on providing shelter, food and supplies for disaster survivors as well as emotional support. Those who wish to help the people affected by disasters can  go to www.redcross.org.
