Helena Wrestler Signs with MSU-Northern

Two-time Class AA state heavyweight wrestling champion Tucker Erickson of Helena High has signed a letter of intent to wrestle at Montana State-Northern.

Erickson posted a 39-0 mark as a senior, setting school season records with 33 pins and for wins without a loss. He finished his career with a 91-9 mark and won his other state title when he was a sophomore.

Erickson earned the Class AA quick pin award at state this year, pinning all four opponents in a total time of 3 minutes, 56 seconds.

Erickson told the Independent Record he was in contact with several NAIA and NCAA Division I schools, but says he chose Northern because it has a great wrestling program and because he likes Havre.
