HELENA, Mont. (AP) — A Helena man who was fleeing law enforcement after reportedly trying to kidnap a woman drove his sport utility vehicle through a fence and went airborne before landing on Interstate 15.

The Independent Record reports (http://bit.ly/1rxbjKR) police arrested 27-year-old Thaddeus Jake Deshner on Sunday on suspicion of attempted kidnapping, assault and a probation violation. He also faces charges of driving under the influence and criminal endangerment.

Minutes before the crash, Deshner reportedly grabbed a woman who was working in her front yard at about 11 a.m. Sunday and tried to force her into his SUV. He fled when the woman's husband confronted him.

About 15 minutes later, Deshner apparently spotted a Lewis and Clark County sheriff's patrol car and sped off.
