A collision involving a small Subaru and a large Ford truck occurred around 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 11, and resulted in possible life-threatening injuries according to Missoula Police public information Officer Travis Welsh.

"911 received a call of a two-vehicle collision in the 2900 block of Reserve Street, the caller indicated that it was a head-on and that there were injuries EMS, Missoula Fire EMS and City Police responded and multiple people were transported to the hospital."

Eyewitnesses say they saw the truck driving northbound in the southbound lane, and police are still trying to piece together what led to the crash. In the meantime everyone involved was taken in for medical care.

"All three from the passenger car were transported to the hospital," Welsh said. The adult male and a child (from the truck) were also transported, but injuries appear to be slighter than the injuries in the passenger car. In total five people went to the hospital and at least three are injured pretty significantly."

The Subaru was damaged so severely that the front bumper was completely sheared off. The entire driver’s side of the Subaru was caved in by the crash and Welsh says rescuers had to use tools to extricate the passengers.
