Head Montana Grizzly football coach Mick Delaney says the process to return Jordan Johnson to the football team begins today (Monday, March 4).

Reached early Monday morning, coach Delaney said he fully expects Johnson to reapply starting today for readmission to the Grizzly athletic program. He praised Johnson as a tremendous athlete who is a 'real student of the game,' Although Delaney would be happy to welcome Johnson back on the team, he said ' you know, its not like he's the savior of the world, so to speak, he will certainly com in and do what he did the last two years he was here, and that is be a highly competitive team leader and those type of things.'

He says Johnson hasn't played in over a year, but the entire team stood behind him during the past year in which he faced a charge of sexual intercourse without consent. Johnson was found not guilty on Friday.

Delaney says with Johnson, the quarterback situation for Montana will be that much better and more competitive.

Spring drills begin on Monday, March 18, and Delaney is looking forward to improving last year's disappointing 5 and 6 season.
