Part 3 of my position-by-position preview of the Montana Grizzies' football team takes us to the final spot on the offensive line.

The center is the quarterback of the O-Line. He is responsible for making sure all 5 linemen are on the same page in terms of blocking schemes.

He may also need to point out potential blitzers, and adjust the blocking scheme accordingly.

This year, the Griz have just two true centers listed, but a number of linemen could step in if needed. Without further ado, then:

Jake Hendrickson, Sr.
Stephen Sabin, Sr.
Brett Brauer, So.

RETURNING STARTERS: 0

PLAYER TO WATCH: Stephen Sabin

SLEEPER: Jake Hendrickson

FUTURE STAR: Brett Brauer

Replacing three-year starter Alex Verlanic, who graduated this past spring, won't be easy. Stephen Sabin will slide over from left guard (where he started every game but one a year ago), and so far has handled the transition well. Right now, sophomore Brett Brauer is listed as Sabin's backup, but he may be more of a project for the future. Jake Hendrickson, who is also competing for a starting guard spot, is a very versatile lineman and could be the team's emergency center, if something were to happen to Sabin.

Also, during yesterday's preview of the offensive guards, I forgot to mention freshman Zachary Taves. He was a late addition to this fall's roster, and will more than likely redshirt this season.
