Head coach Mick Delaney is adding strength and speed to the Grizzly offense with the addition of two transfers from Football Bowl Subdivision schools, Boise State and the University of Washington.

"Jamal Wilson is a fullback from Boise State," Delaney said. "He's a good student, a good character guy, and a really, really good football player. The reason he's transferring to Montana is because Boise State is changing their offense and moving away from using a fullback, so Jamal was looking for a place to play. Our former offensive coordinator Jonathan Smith, who is now at Boise State called, and said this is a quality young man who's looking for a place to play. With Wilson, now we can move Joey Counts back to playing just tailback, instead of playing two positions."

The other drop-down player is Jamaal Jones, a wide receiver from the University of Washington.

"Jamaal Jones was an outstanding high school player coming out, and was very highly recruited young man who wasn't playing as much as he wanted, and saw that Montana was an excellent program where he'll have a chance to get on the field more than he has," Delaney said.

Both Jones and Wilson will enter the program as sophomores, with three years of eligibility. Montana's first game will be against perennial FCS powerhouse Appalachian State under the lights at 7:00 p.m. on August 31.
