The Montana Grizzlies held their final scrimmage of fall camp on Saturday afternoon. The situational scrimmage was followed by the teams annual media day.

With only seven starters returning, the competition for a starting spot is very high. Head Coach Mick Delaney says “when you’ve got a young group, there’s not a lot of difference between the ones and twos, and we expect year long battles at some positions.” He specifically mentioned the secondary and offensive line.

When asked how his coaching staff has dealt with the external distractions that have surrounded the team for the last several months, Delaney says he relies on the leadership of juniors and seniors on the team. They have set high standards for themselves and their teammates both on and off the field.

When asked how the team was dealing with the recent sexual assault investigations, senior running back Dan Moore said, "We don't talk about . . .all that stuff is negative, and we are trying to keep it positive." When asked which game he was looking forward to most, Moore said, “the first one.”

The grizzlies kick off the season with a home game on September 1st against the South Dakota Coyotes.
