Both the Griz and Lady Griz dropped their opening games on the road last night.

The Montana men fell to Colorado State 72-65, while the Lady Griz lost to Temple 55-41.

The Grizzlies forged ahead at the half, leading CSU 34-27, but the Rams closed the gap and went ahead to stay and won by a 7-point margin. Guard Keron DeShields led the Griz in scoring with 17 points, followed by Jordan Gregory with 10. Starting guard Will Cherry will be out of the line-up for at least a month with a broken foot.

After jumping out to a 16 to 6 lead to start the game, the Lady Griz faced their old nemesis...ice-cold shooting in their first game of the season, playing the Lady Owls of Temple in Philadelphia, Bib Cosby's alma mater. But shooting just 26.3% was no laughing matter for coach Robin Selvig, who has seen his team lose their opening games for the last three seasons.

Up next for the Griz, they will host Minot State on November 14th, while the Lady Griz will host MSU Northern Tuesday at 7 p.m.
