Officials in central Montana say a Great Falls man died in an accident at a Yogo sapphire mine near Utica.

Judith Basin County Deputy Coroner Dick Brown says 54-year-old Michael Duane Roberts was the only person in the mine when the accident happened. He died at the scene.

Brown says it appears some rocks fell on Roberts while he was working in the mine.

The accident was reported to dispatchers at 3:40 a.m. Tuesday, but it is not known when it happened.
