A 39-year-old resident of the Great Falls Pre-Release Center who police say sexually assaulted a mentally disabled woman on a public bus has been charged with sexual intercourse without consent.

The Great Falls Tribune reports that Paul James Jones made his initial appearance in Cascade County District Court on Friday.

Authorities say a 20-year-old woman reported an assault on Jan. 17 and that police using video footage and photos determined Jones to be a suspect.

Police say they contacted Jones at the pre-release center and he admitted the assault to police and that he knew the victim had disabilities.
