Grand Opening for New Subsidized Apartments on Tuesday

The Silvertip Apartments will hold their Grand Opening this Tuesday, July 10th at 1311 East Broadway. HUD Regional Director Rick Garcia will be among the featured speakers, including Mayor Jon Engen and representatives of Senators Jon Tester and Max Baucus, the Department of Commerce, the Montana Legislature and the Missoula City Council.
The Silvertip features 115 apartments, and was built to meet the needs of low-income renters. HUD estimates that 52% of renters pay more than 30% of their income for housing. The grand opening will feature a ribbon cutting, live music, Famous Dave’s barbeque and Big Dipper ice Cream. Nancy Harte with the Office of Planning and Grants says the public is invited to attend.
