Gov. Schweitzer’s Nephew Facing Felony Drug Charge

Authorities say the 26-year-old nephew of Gov. Brian Schweitzer has been charged after officers say they intercepted more than 2 pounds of marijuana that arrived in Billings by FedEx.
Friedrick Jozef Schweitzer appeared in Justice Court on Wednesday on a felony charge of criminal possession with intent to distribute.
Court records say FedEx set aside a suspicious package Tuesday, and officers arranged to monitor the delivery later that afternoon. Authorities say Friedrick Schweitzer retrieved the package shortly after it was left at the mailing address, and a search turned up 2.3 pounds of marijuana.
Friedrick Schweitzer says he owns a medical marijuana business, but prosecutors say he is not a licensed provider.
Schweitzer owned a medical marijuana business that operated in the city last year.
