Armored warhorses, Darth Vader pinatas and famous authors will all be at Missoula's Miscon this weekend. The 26-year-old science fiction and fantasy convention regularly draws crowds from all across the northwest, but this year promises to be even bigger because of the attendance of celebrated author George R.R. Martin. Martin's best known work, A Song of Ice and Fire, sliced it's way into pop culture after being turned into an HBO series called Game of Thrones. Miscon Media Director, Jonathan Crummett gives a quick explanation of what to expect at Miscon

The iconic Iron Throne from the series will also be present. HBO delivered the set piece about a week ago and according to Miscon attendees, the throne at the event is the actual throne used on the cover of the DVD set that was released a few months ago.

Miscon starts on Friday at noon and stretches through next Monday. Those that wish to meet George R.R. Martin will find him at the event all weekend, but there is a scheduled meet and greet at 2:00 on Friday. For more information visit the Miscon webpage.
