A former high school girls' basketball coach has been given a 10-year suspended sentence after being accused of arranging a sexual liaison with a person he thought was a 14-year-old girl.

David Paisley, a former coach at Missoula Hellgate High School, was sentenced Wednesday by District Judge Ed McLean. Paisley previously entered an Alford Plea to sexual abuse of a minor, which means he didn't admit guilt but acknowledged there was enough evidence to convict him.

Prosecutors say the 43-year-old drove to a Missoula parking lot May 27, 2010, to meet the "girl," who turned out to be an undercover police detective.

He has denied he intended to have sexual contact, but charging documents say he initiated an online conversation about sex with the "girl" and offered to buy condoms before the meeting.
