KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) — Flathead County is trying to find about $1 million to stabilize a bluff near a housing subdivision and a golf course

The county says more money is needed because it has received no bids from contractors based on the money available.

A section of the bluff collapsed in 2010, and a slide followed in 2014. No injuries were reported.

According to the Daily Inter Lake, commissioners declined to serve as the sponsoring government agency over concern about the county's liability if the slope work fails, and they want the federal government to step in.
