Fire Evacuees Head Home Near Butte

BUTTE, Mont. (AP) — More than 200 residents in western Montana evacuated because of the 19 Mile Fire have been allowed to return home.
Fire spokesman Wayne Wynick says a convoy of residents has been returning after the evacuation order for some 100 homes was lifted Sunday.
The fire that started Tuesday about 10 miles southeast of Butte destroyed 14 homes and at least eight other structures. One resident sustained burns on his hands and arms on Wednesday and was sent to the University of Utah Health Care Burn Center in Salt Lake City.
About 450 personnel are assigned to the blaze. Wynick said firefighters have been using back burns to fight the wildfire that is 64 percent contained.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
