Last year the  Missoula Fire Department was able to raise $22,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) with their “Fill the Boot” fundraiser. Fundraising coordinator for the MDA, Kate Kroker says they have had a longstanding relationship with the Missoula Fire Department for 56 years. The MDA is funded almost entirely by individual private contributor and does not receive government funding. Kroker  Says the funds that are raised, stay locally. Firefighters will be hitting the streets again this Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until 4 p.m, collecting donations  to benefit local children and adults with muscle-wasting diseases. My entire interview with Ms. Kroker is attached below.
