Missoula authorities are trying to find whoever might be responsible for breaking into and damaging the Bonner Post Office.

"On the evening of July 17 - 18, there was a report of a burglary that happened over night at the Bonner Post Office," said Missoula County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Paige Pavalone. Deputies were called to respond at about 6:30 in the morning. The employees who worked there went to work in the morning and saw that the back door was opened. When they got inside they found that the place was ransacked and that several safes had been damaged."

The crime is considered a felony.

Nothing appears to have been stolen, but that may have just been because the safes that were broken into happened to be empty. Pavalone says no pictures or surveillance video of the perpetrators has been found and that solving this crime will require the public’s help. Anyone with information on this case is advised to call Crimestoppers at 721-4444.
