Have you ever been in a Facebook fight? I have. I kind of actually like getting in Facebook fights. Well, maybe I don’t like them so much as I feel it is my duty to give my opinion, especially when that opinion is different from that of someone else’s.

The fight usually starts when a “friend” posts something that is extremely opinionated and obnoxious. In this paragraph rant of theirs they always ask a question. I assume, since they are asking a question, that they are looking for an answer. Well, what kind of a person would I be if I had the answer and didn’t tell them? Really, I feel like it is my duty to answer their question. So I do.

You would not believe how many people ask you for an answer and then don’t like it when you give it to them. Now, this could be because my opinion usually differs from theirs and is also right. The weird thing is that people don’t want to hear that they are wrong. Who knew? I have to admit, this is a lesson I have learned the hard way.

There is usually some back and forth matching of wits, (of which I am always the wittiest). By the end of the Facebook fight the other person always comes around to my opinion and we have a Facebook hug. Not really. Usually there is an agree-to-disagree of some sort and everyone goes their separate ways. I have yet to actually sway someone, but I feel as though I should keep trying. Plus there is always fun in a contest of wits.

These past few months I have been a witness to numerous Facebook fights thanks to the upcoming elections. I usually try to stay out of those if I can.
