Ex-Montana Tech Leader to Head Foundation

HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Former Montana Tech chancellor Frank Gilmore has been named the new president of the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation.

The foundation was established in 1986 in honor of the former U.S. senator. Its goal is to provide college scholarships in math, science and engineering.

Gilmore retired from Montana Tech last year after 13 years as chancellor. He will be the scholarship foundation's second president in its 26 years.

Gilmore's new position was announced Wednesday by Democratic Sens. Max Baucus and Jon Tester.
