Loons on the Lake Interpretive Program

Did you know that only around 200 common loons call Montana home for the summer? Come learn more about these fascinating creatures at Placid Lake State Park from Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks Loon Ranger Mike Strickland. Placid Lake is one of the few locations in the state where common loons visit and raise their young. Maybe you can catch sight of a winged legend!
Reserve a campsite or simply stop by for the program. Park admission is free for instate residents and $5 for non-residents. The camping fee starts from $15-$20 for Montana Residents and $23-$28 for non-residents.
