In honor of National Public Lands Day this upcoming Saturday, the entrance fee for Glacier National Park will be waived.

"The park is definitely still open and this is a great time of year, so we encourage people to check the park out this weekend," Public Information Officer Katie Liming said. "There are still some trail closures from the Reynolds Creek and Thompson Divide fires, but for the most part, the park is still open and there's so many opportunities to hike and camp."

Liming said entrance fees will also be waived on Veterans Day on November 11.

"Glacier National Park is open year-round," Liming said. "The opportunities available change a little bit in different seasons, but there's always something to do here depending on what your type of recreation is."
