Emily Milberger has been hired as the University of Montana’s new women’s golf coach. She replaces Joanne Steele, who coached the Grizzlies for 15 seasons before resigning in June to start up the women’s golf program at North Florida.

Milberger, most recently the interim head coach at SMU, becomes Montana’s third women’s golf coach in program history. Current men’s tennis coach Kris Nord led the Grizzlies from 1993-94 to 1995-96, at which time Steele took over.

“I’m excited and really looking forward to all the things the University and Missoula have to offer,” Milberger said Wednesday from her home in Dallas.

“I’m excited to get up there and dive right into the fall season and get going.”
