Shortly after discovering a vehicle accident, U.S. Forest Service crewmembers called the Frenchtown Rural Fire Department at about 9:15 a.m. on Friday, August 2. At issue was a significant one-vehicle accident in which a man claimed to have been trapped in his car since Tuesday, July 23.

The incident occurred on West Nine Mile Road near Forest Service Road 5520 to Barrett creek.

According to a Frenchtown Fire Department spokesperson, crews had to use the jaws of life to extract the individual from the vehicle.

Also on scene was a Missoula EMS medic unit, some sheriff's deputies, and the Montana Highway Patrol.

The vehicle has been described as a Chevy Impala and there is little information about what caused the incident. More details will be added to this story as they become available.
