The Missoula DUI Task force hosted an historic round table discussion Friday afternoon at the Missoula City Council Chambers. Several agencies, businesses and transportation providers met before members of Law Enforcement, media and the public to discuss ideas for getting people home safely after drinking too much..especially in the late night hours. Representatives from Yellow Cab, The Mountain Line, ASUM Transportation Services, and a non-profit ride-home business called U-CALL-US shared their ideas. Research firm Six Pony Hitch representative Spider McKnight shared results of a study recently conducted for the DUI Task Force. That part of the discussion is attached.

DUI Task Force head Loni Hutchison hopes Friday’s meeting will spark more discussion to halt turf wars over transportation, and will bring more awareness about the issue. Police and County Sheriff’s officials say over 1300 DUI arrests were

9-5-11 DUImade in Missoula in 2010.
