Dr. Timothy Richards, MD, FACS is a Board Certified Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Kansas, and earned his Doctorate of Medicine at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans. Upon completion of his residency at Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco, Dr. Richards served in the U.S. Army in Belgium and Colorado Springs. During his 12 years in the military he was deployed in both Desert Storm and Yugoslavia, where he treated battle casualties. After fulfilling his military obligation, he moved to Missoula to practice general surgery, serving the community for over 20 years at both Community Medical Center and St. Patrick’s Hospital. Dr. Richards is committed to staying current on the latest advancements in the field of General Surgery and Laser Technology. His professional dedication complements his compassion – a quality appreciated by patients, staff and fellow physicians. He has served as Chairperson of surgery, CMC Staff President and serves presently as Chairman of the Board of Directors for CMC.    He has also gone to Guinea West Africa as a member of a medical mission team, performing surgeries in the jungle and in less than optimal circumstances.
