Montana State Auditor Monica Lindeen is touring the state and screening a documentary film called “Gold Diggers: Investment Fraud in the Treasure State”. Lindeen says she hopes the film will work as a preventative measure to help keep Montanans away from scams.

"The documentary tells the story of two of our most infamous investment scams that have happened in Montana," said Lindeen. "The first is Art Heffelfinger who is out of Montana City. He ran a ponzi scheme and Anne Schlenker out of Bozeman she was a an investment adviser and basically stole from her customers."

Screenings are occurring in many communities starting today in Plaines.

"We have 28 scheduled over the next few months," Lindeen said. "We really would appreciate it if folks could make a reservation by calling my office at 1-800-332-6148 or they can actually register online as well at csimt.gov/fraudtour."

Actor Bill Pullman narrates Gold Diggers, a film which was produced by Lindeen’s office using grant money from the Investor Protection Trust.
