Representative Steve Daines commemorated Thursday's groundbreaking of a 15-room complex that will serve the homeless veterans of the Crow Reservation.Daines commended Crow Tribe executive officers and the Crow Veteran Affairs Office for their work to build support for the Apsaalooke Warriors Apartment Complex.

"The Crow Reservation is home to more tan 400 veterans, and far too many are without a home to call their own," Daines said. "Unfortunately, this struggle goes largely unseen."

Last year, Crow Veteran Affairs personnel went door to door throughout the Crow Reservation to conduct a survey of how many veterans were still living on the reservation. The office found that a number of Crow veterans were living in homes with up to 20 other residents.

"I'm grateful to see the Crow Tribe's commitment to addressing this problem, and giving our warriors a home of their own," Daines said.
