Crow Indian fancy dancer Christian Parrish Takes the Gun is among 10 Native Americans scheduled to appear on a Native Pride float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

Takes the Gun tells The Billings Gazette (http://bit.ly/1jKj2l0 ) he’s been dancing at powwows since he was in fourth grade, and over the past decade has been spreading his message of sobriety through his hip hop dancing.

The combination of the two dance types is what he plans to do on the float. The parade starts at 9 a.m. Mountain.

He says it’s an honor to represent the Crow people.
