After reading through this recipe, you may wonder why it is called Apple Betty Barrie, instead of an Apple Brown Betty. This is because my grandma’s name is Betty Barrie, and I thought it would be awesome to name a delicious dessert after her, so here it is. Sweet and tart, just like my grandma. This is one of my favorite crockpot desserts. It is super simple and super delicious. I hope you love it as much as I love my grandma.

Crockpot Apple Betty Barrie

6 granny smith apples

1 cup bread crumbs

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1/8 teaspoon salt

3/ 4 cup packed brown sugar

1 stick butter

¼ cup chopped walnuts

Spray your crockpot with a non-stick spray. Peel the apples, core them and then cut them into slices. Place the apples into the crockpot. Combine all the rest of the ingredients and stir them up. Spread the ingredients over the apples. Place the lid on the crockpot and set it on low for 3 to 4 hours.
