County Attorney Bristles At USDJ Investigation [AUDIO]

One member of Tuesday afternoon’s press conference was definitely not pleased with the arrival of the United States Justice Department to investigate the handling of sexual assaults on the University of Montana Campus. Missoula County Attorney Fred Van Valkenburg openly asked the Justice Department staff assembled what the County Attorney’s office had done, or not done to warrant such an investigation, an investigation Van Valkenburg says is unprecedented in the history of the United States.
Van Valkenburg said the Justice Department’s actions will send a message to County Attorney offices all over the country that every case they prosecute may now come under federal scrutiny. Mr. Van Valkenburg’s comments are below.
