Corvallis Cowboy Entering National ‘Mustang Makeover’ Competition
I had the pleasure of meeting one of the nicest guys down the Bitterroot Valley yesterday, James Brown, he is the owner of City Slicker Ranch LLC. His ranch is located in Corvallis, and James is a University of Montana graduate. After college James began working with horses, although previously he had been deathly afraid of them.
After James got on a horse for the very first time he fell in love with the animal. It wasn't long after his first ride that he purchased his first horse. He didn't realize at that time that the horse he bought, was a little more than he was ready to handle. Instead of giving up, James learned quickly from some of the best horse trainers in the world on how to better handle his horse. As the years past, James has learned more and more, and trains horses regularly now down at his farm in Corvallis.
His skills at breaking horses has now got him entered into a National competition in Colorado. For the 'Extreme Mustang Makeover Challenge' James was given a wild Mustang (Reba) and he had 100 days to work with her and train her as if he had been working with her for years. There are lots of other horse trainers that will be competing for $25,000 up for grabs in prize money! Check out the videos to watch James in action, good luck in Colorado James!
