I love Dr. Seuss books! He would have been 114 today. Lets enjoy some rhyming and fun for this special day.

Abc13.com has some fun facts to celebrate today. He actually does have an honorary doctorate that Dartmouth awarded him. Another fun fact I read on the website  " Dr. Seuss wrote "The Cat in the Hat" because he was concerned about kids learning to read. A publisher reportedly challenged him to "Write me a story that first-graders can't put down!".

March 2, 1904 was when the "Seuss" came into this world. His birthday has been appropriately tied with National Read Across America Day. There is a really cute website called "Seussville" you should check out if you have kids.

CNN has the cutest poem for the docs Birthday:

Today's a day to celebrate

The work of someone gone but great.
Come on now, don't be obtuse,
Let's all give thanks to Dr. Seuss.

He had published over 60 books. His first kids book "And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street" under the name Dr. Seuss was in 1937.
