Montana owns 802 cabin lease lots across the state. The Department of Natural Resources and Conservation and the Board of Land Commissioners is proposing rule-making regarding cabin site leasing to implement the requirements of SB409 which was passed by the 2011 Legislature. The proposed rules were published on November 10 and the comment period runs through Thursday. Member of Montana lease holders association Gene Hutz says explains the senate bill.

 

The DNRC will hold two public meetings this week, one in Seely Lake, and one in Kalispell, to discuss the open bid process. Revenue generated from fees goes to help support public schools. The meetings are listed below:
