HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Gov. Steve Bullock and his wife Lisa made $145,000 last year and paid just over $23,000 in state and federal income taxes.

The Democratic governor recently released his 2013 tax returns to the public.

Lee Newspapers of Montana reports the couple's tax filings show their combined salaries totaled nearly $135,000. They also reported about $6,600 in rental income along with some dividends and capital gains on investments.

The Bullocks paid just over $16,000 in federal income taxes and more than $7,200 in state income taxes. They reported giving more than $6,400 to charity.

In 2012, the couple reported $178,000 in income and paid about $32,000 in federal and state income taxes.
