GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) — A Browning man has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in an October 2012 death on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation.

A grand jury indictment charges Victor Vielle in an Oct. 6, 2012 attack in Browning that caused the death of the victim, identified in court records by the initials D.J.R.

Vielle was arrested last Friday in Cut Bank and entered his plea in U.S. District Court in Great Falls on Monday. He was assigned a public defender.

The Great Falls Tribune reports (http://gftrib.com/1dtR9ee) an obituary that ran in the paper on Oct. 13, 2012, indicated that 33-year-old oilfield worker David Joshua “Josh” RedHead died on Oct. 9, 2012, at a Kalispell hospital. It said his death was under investigation.

Officials have not said what caused the victim’s death.
