Glacier National Park officials say bone fragments found in the park are being analyzed to see if they belong to a 27-year-old man who disappeared in the park three years ago.

Spokeswoman Denise Germann says a hiker found a portion of two items of clothing in early July that match the clothing worn by Yi-Jien Hwa, who was reported missing in August 2008. Hwa was a seminary student in Lexington, Ky., and a native of Malaysia.

Rangers have returned to the area around the Floral Park Route where other items that match Hwa's equipment list have been found. Rangers believe the evidence was transported down slope from the steep cliffs by water and avalanches. The recovery effort will continue.

Park rangers are in contact with Hwa's wife and mother.
