A badly decomposed body has been pulled from the Missouri River in Great Falls.

Responders with Mountain Patrol Search and Rescue recovered the body at West Bank Park at about 2 p.m. Wednesday, but authorities have not commented.

Meanwhile, family members of 42-year-old Sherry Lankford, a Great Falls woman who has been missing since mid-March, gathered near the shore. Stacy Snider, Lankford's cousin, says she is "99.9 percent sure" the body is that of her cousin because she and other family members recognized a belt and a ring she said belonged to Lankford.

Snider tells the Great Falls Tribune, "we want to make that really clear — that if somebody did hurt her, we want to find them."

The body will be taken to the State Crime Lab in Missoula.
