The body of a woman found Sunday, February 16, on the north end of Lyndale Avenue in Hamilton has been identified as 61-year-old Linda M. Shelley.

Her body was found Sunday morning near some bushes behind Super One Foods by a person out for a walk. Hamilton Police Chief Ryan Oster said initial indications are that she died of exposure, but investigation is ongoing until an autopsy is completed by the State Crime Lab in Missoula.

In a news release, Oster said that Shelley had been recently evicted from the place she had been staying and that she had lived at several different locations in the Hamilton for the past year. She had also gotten "assistance from multiple community members and organizations."

The Hamilton Police investigation did not indicate any criminal conduct in connection with her death.
