Representatives Denny Rehberg and Rosa DeLauro, Chairman and Ranking Member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services and Education, praised Education Secretary Arne Duncan for prioritizing early childhood education by directing $500 million to those programs out of $700 million Race to the Top funds his Department received in the full year Continuing Resolution that was signed into law last month. Congressman Denny Rehberg says this is a major victory.

Working together across party lines, Rehberg and DeLauro sent a letter urging Secretary Duncan to designate at least $350 million provided by Congress in fiscal year 2011 for activities pertaining to quality improvement in early childhood care and education.
