Many fundraising efforts are underway for families of the Sandy Hook School shootings, but some are scams trying to steal your money.

The Better Business Bureau office in Spokane, Washington warms residents in Montana that scammers are working overtime preying upon the compassion of people who want to help families of the victims.

Chelsea Dannen with the Better Business Bureau says to beware of anyone who aggressively contacts residents at home, asking for money, and to only donate to websites or charities they trust.

Anyone with questions can visit the Better Business Bureau website.
