The University Of Montana basketball teams return to the hardwood this evening. The Griz men will meet Northern Colorado at 7:05p.m. at Dahlberg Arena. The Lady Griz are on the road to Greeley Colorado to take on the Bears 7:05p.m. at Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion.
The Griz men are playing at home for the first time since December 30th, 2011. Montana is coming off of a tough loss at league leading Weber State. Northern Colorado is the defending Big Sky Conference Champion. The Grizzlies and Bears met last season for the Big Sky Tourney Championship, with the Bears winning 65-60. Montana’s season record is 4-1 and 11-6 heading into tonight’s contest while the Bears are 3-2 and 6-10.
The Lady Griz and Bears are both in the thick of the Big Sky Conference race. Montana, 10-7, 3-1, is tied for second place with Portland State. The Lady Griz are coming off two impressive victories over Northern Arizona and Weber State. Montana’s win over Weber State was one of their best offensive performances of the season. The Lady Griz had six players score in double-digits. Northern Colorado returns three starters from last season’s team. Last season, Montana split regular season games with the Bears and then beat them in The Big Sky Tourney Semi-Finals 55-46.
