A medical marijuana advocacy group spokeswoman says federal and state law enforcement officials have raided at least three western Montana providers.

Kate Cholewa of the Montana Cannabis Industry Association says Wednesday's raids included Big Sky Health and Kind Caregivers in Missoula, and Glacier Health in Kalispell.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for Montana said Wednesday that it had executed 12 criminal search warrants in Kalispell, Missoula, Somers and Whitefish, plus four seizure warrants at financial institutions.

The U.S. Attorney's Office statement says the warrants are part of a yearlong drug trafficking investigation, but it does not say where they were conducted or whether medical marijuana operations were targeted.

The statement also does not describe what was taken or say whether anybody was arrested.
