Assault With A Weapon In Franklin Park [AUDIO]

21 year-old Josiah Castro of Missoula was arrested Sunday afternoon after he and an accomplice allegedly physically assaulted a man in Franklin Park. During the altercation, Castro brandished a handgun and threatened the victim and his girlfriend. Missoula Police were called to the scene and the suspect vehicle led the officer on a chase around the neighborhood. During the pursuit Castro allegedly threw the pistol out the window, but it was later found by a passerby and given to police.
Castro appeared in Missoula Justice Court Monday afternoon and was charged with felony assault with a weapon. He has been placed in the Missoula County Jail on $50,000 bond. My interview with Deputy Missoula County Attorney Jason Marks is below.
