A 27-year-old Anaconda police officer accused of driving drunk and hitting a parked vehicle last month has pleaded not guilty.

Tyler Deeks appeared in Justice Court on Monday and denied misdemeanor charges of DUI first offense and failure to report an accident by the quickest means. His trial has been scheduled for Feb. 16.

The Montana Highway Patrol cited Deeks after he allegedly hit the vehicle in Anaconda just after 5 a.m. Sept. 17. He is back at work after serving a temporary suspension issued by Chief Tim Barkell.

Deeks has been with the Anaconda Police Department for two years.
