Firefighters have the Ambrose Saddle Fire east of Stevensville fifty percent contained. Approximately sixty five firefighters are assigned to the fire, which grew slightly on Tuesday to fifteen acres. The primary challenge for firefighters has been locating and extinguishing spot fires generated by the active fire that occured late Monday. Fire managers are anticipating increased wind conditions over the next several days as well as continued high temperatures. Some smoke may be visible east of Highway 93 and from communities south of Missoula.
