Ambrose Fire Near Stevensville Burns In Lolo National Forest

Firefighters and two tanker helicopters were dispatched to the Ambrose Saddle Fire about 12 miles east of Stevensville on the Lolo National Forest. The fire was first reported late yesterday afternoon. The fire is burning actively and additional resources are being ordered to suppress the fire.

As of last night the fire was approximately five acres and is burning in timber.

Smoke from the fire is visible east of Highway 93 and from local communities south of Missoula. No structures or property are currently threatened by the fire.
